The Library of Congress Pilot Project with the San Diego Supercomputer Center was a one year pilot project (May 2006-October 2007) to test mass scale data storage and transfer between the Library of Congress and SDSC. A central issue within this pilot was the "trust" component for remote data storage facilities.
The primary objectives of the program were as follows:
- For SDSC to host LC content reliably and return it intact at the end of the project.
- For LC to be able to remotely access, process, analyze, and manage that content.
